Josie Maran Bright and Beautiful Collection

You know those nights when you're accidentally awake at 4am and find yourself mindlessly perusing QVC?  Well that happened last week, and two days later, I found the Josie Maran Bright and Beautiful TSV (today's special value) on my doorstep.  I've been pretty impressed actually, and thought you might like to see it too.  Click to read more:

The seven-piece set consists of one five-piece eyeshadow palette, one balm highlighter

One hydrating Love Your Lips lipstick, which I was a bit disappointed with as it arrived damaged:

One Argan Black Oil Mascara with a bobbly brush:

One 50ml bottle of 100% Pure Argan Oil, which is the signature product of the range - being that every Josie Maran product is infused with argan oil and one extra-large (60mls!) bottle of Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation:

The foundation is unusual in that it contains "chameleon" pigments (yeah, me either) designed to change colour to match your skintone, and indeed, the foundation is actually white in the bottle:

The eyeshadows are rich in pigment, and buttery soft, and the lip colour is nice and nourishing on the lips.  The mascara is very black, and adds a nice curl and lift to the lashes - not as much volume as I'd normally care for, but for a daytime look it's very nice - and the highlighter is very soft and non-glittery.  I'm not entirely sure the duo-fibre brush is the best way to apply it, but it does look very natural on the skin.  The argan oil is useful, and quite a big bottle.  I love it a for a conditioning treatment on dry ends of my hair.

The foundation is another really light coverage base product, but this one has a more matte finish than the Dr Perricone product I featured the other day, but it is buildable, and does adjust nicely to (paler) skins.  I have found that it will cling to dry patches somehat chronically, but over a well moisturised skin, I think it would work nicely.  There is a double-ended brush that went with the set too, but I don't like double-ended brushes, so couldn't be bothered taking pictures of it  ...

All in all the set cost £44 and change, and I think it was well worth it.  What was your last unthinking QVC splurge?
