Finishing Touches (#LipsNspritz) of the Week 2nd May 2016
Bright reds and dark berries, plus one glorious pink this week, alongside some classic fragrances too. Top left were the gorgeous white flowers of Narciso For Her, which is a fragrance I love a great deal, and could even smell it slightly through my parosmia last year, which always grants a special place in my heart for a fragrance. I wore this on Friday with Mac Hot Tahiti, a soft and gentle red.
Middle Left: I'd also worn Narciso Rodriguez Musc For Her this week, which is a powdery musk, somewhat clean-smelling (reminiscent, slightly, of laundry musks), but the oil format keeps it close to the skin. I wore this with the most emailed about lipstick ever featured on this blog, Rouge Baiser 306, which I picked up in Paris a few years ago. (Incidentally, I'm not a stockist or supplier of these lipsticks - which are only available in France - so, please, stop asking me to get them for you!)
Bottom Left: I wore Mugler Cologne, which features a little creaminess in amongst the usual neroli and bitter orange that you get in a classic cologne, making this just a little more interesting than the usual plain citrus blast you might get with a sharper cologne. I wore this with It Cosmetics Vitality Lipstick Stain in Pretty Woman, which is a sheer deep berry. I'll have a lot more to say about It Cosmetics products later on this week.
Bottom right is Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Stylo in 208 Roman, which is a beautiful bright pink. I've not bought anything from Chanel in AGES, and it's hard to get across in this picture just how bright, beautiful and juicy these shades are in the flesh. I'll be picking up some more for sure. I wore it with Chanel Exclusifs Sycomore, which is a fabulous smoky vetiver that I should really pick up a proper bottle of at some point.
And finally (top right) Reiss Grey Flower. Still one of the most unusual and haunting fragrances you could buy on the high street for less than £50, it's filled with guaic wood, which has an oddly fleshy kind of effect (smelled neat, its a bit like parma ham), and this doesn't smell flowery, either. It's hard to say what it smells like (apart from good, interesting, unusual), but it's definitely worth a sniff if you can find a bottle. I paired it up with YSL Rouge Volupte No4, a bright and beautiful sheer red. Not my favourite of formulas - I find it too slippery - but a gorgeous shade.
What have your favourite finishing touches been recently?

Rouge Baiser Mademoiselle Authentique 304
The odds on my going to Paris at any time and coming back without any beauty purchases are slim. Having just got back from Paris (have I mentioned I've been in Paris? If not: I'VE BEEN IN PARIS) I've got a couple of things to show you.
This is a lipstick from Rouge Baiser, which is a France-only brand, and, in this increasingly homogenised planet, it's always good to get something you can't buy anywhere else. I've featured Rouge Baiser before, and the Mademoiselle Authentique formula is one I like, in packaging I think is fantastic.
The last one I bought (302) is a crisp bright red, and I fancied something a little more neutral this time, so I purchased 304, a slightly rosier than it appears under flash photography, mauve. Which, after red, is my favourite colour.
The hand-swatch above is a slightly more true to life representation of the actual shade, but either way, it's more of a my lips but better shade, albeit slightly paler than my actual lips, which I think will be a good partner for a smokier eye look. Here's the same swatch under flash photography:
And on the lips in natural daylight and with flash:
I find the Rouge Baiser Mademoiselle Authentique formulation creamy and not too drying for a long-lasting formulation.
What things do you pick up when you're away?
The Fine Print: Ill-gotten gains from my honeymoon. You knew I was going to buy shizz, didn't you?

Paris Purchases- Rouge Baiser Mademoiselle Authentique 302 Lipstick
I don't think it's legal to come back from a trip to France without a lipstick as one of your souvenirs. Well, if your blog is called Get Lippie, you kind of have to, don't you? And, if it's France, well, that lipstick has to be red.
I spotted the Rouge Baiser lipsticks on our last trip to Paris, and had been kicking myself ever since for not picking one up, so this time, I was a woman determined to get hold of one.
I adore the packaging:
The pewter case (sadly, plastic), the sunburst detailing, it's too gorgeous for words. If I were a different kind of blogger I'd be saying all kinds of wanky crap like "c'est magnifique!" and "tres chic!" but I find that kind of pretentious Franglais irritating beyond belief, so you'll have to settle for me saying "gorgeous" instead. So there.
Because it is.
Did I mention that it's red?
A semi-matte finish, the red of 302 (and I can't pretend that I'm not disappointed the shades have numbers instead of names, because I am) is a blue-based highly pigmented shade, that covers lips in one coat. I don't find it particularly drying, but, like most long-lasting lipsticks (Rouge Baiser state that this is a "comfort long last lipstick) it's not as emollient as many other lipsticks you might have tried in the past, but it slips well over the lips, and you won't feel like your lips have been run through a shredder if you've been wearing it for a few hours.
It's a classic red shade, and I'll be wearing a lot this winter. What was best about it, was the price: 13 Euros. For the packaging alone, I'm happy to pay that price! I bought a separate shade to give to my mother for some French Christmas glamour for her too.
Do you buy cosmetics when you're away? What do you look for? Tomorrow I'll be showing you some supermarket purchases that I just couldn't resist buying whilst I was away ...
