Omorovicza Blue Diamond Eye Cream

  I have trouble with eyecreams, the area around my eyes is probably the most sensitive on my face, and many, many eyecreams sting as a result.  However, even if they don't sting, with most of them, I find little to no effect of using them, so I use them for a week or so then usually completely forget about using them at all.

However, I'm coming to the age now where the lines around my eyes are getting more and more noticeable, and less ignorable. Dehydration lines show up quickly, and leave slowly, and yes, I look a bit older than I used to as a result.  Now, I'm quite lucky in that I don't have particularly dark circles, and I don't have huge eye bags, but the lines themselves are beginning to become an issue for me, and I've definitely reached the point where I can't really ignore eye creams any more.  So I decided not to ignore this one, Blue Diamond Eye Cream, by Omorovicza when it arrived.

So bearing in mind my previously disappointing experiences with eye creams of all price points, I didn't start my trial of Omorovicza Blue Diamond Eye Cream with particularly high hopes.  But on first use, it jumped the first hurdle nicely, as it didn't burn!  And oh, how gorgeous is that beautiful glowing blue bottle?  I'm a sucker for lovely packaging, I know, but this is a lovely bottle.

The cream is a medium-thick consistency, very silky and spreads easily over the skin.  A little of this goes a very long way, a tiny blob, around the size of a grain of rice will definitely cover both orbital bones around the eyes.  I find it absorbs easily, and definitely feels very hydrating on the skin.  I've found  that dehydration lines (usually apparent in early afternoon) take longer to appear, and are less noticeably visible when they do.  And in rest, lines just are less apparent, which is great.  I've also noticed a slight "lifting" effect, meaning the skin around my eyes feels a little more taut than it used to, but I'm not sure how much of this is psychological, to be honest - but I did notice it before I read the press release, I swear!

Speaking of the press release, Blue Diamond Eye Cream does in fact mention a lifting effect - the ingredients, including vitamin C and mimosa bark, are intended to strengthen thinning skin, coupled with a time-release system to keep hydrating throughout the day. Now, whilst the effects haven't been super-dramatic - I don't suddenly look like a super-model - the effects have been noticeable, even to this jaded bloggers eye.  No pun intended. Wrinkles are less apparent, and dehydration is much less of an issue than it was, and with no stinging, I have to declare this a winner for me, and it has been in my skincare rotation pretty much constantly since it arrived.

There is one caveat, however, the price.  Omorovicza Blue Diamond Eye Cream costs £195.  Much as I love this - and I genuinely do, I don't think I can repurchase at that price point.  And now, if you don't mind, I'm off to cry about my bank balance.
